DRAWING
My natural talent as a draftsman has greatly influenced my creative journey. From a young age, I took pride in my ability to accurately depict scenes and ideas, drawing what I see rather than relying on assumptions. When sketching figures, I focus on the interconnectedness of elements, utilizing negative space and the intersection of lines to create clean and intentional compositions. This process, influenced by drawing from life, has taught me the value of collaboration and the importance of reflecting reality in my work. It has sharpened my skills in composition, spatial awareness, and the use of value, line, and directionality.
Drawing from life has seamlessly translated into my UX design practice. It empowers me to strategically arrange visual elements, guide user flow, and create intuitive digital experiences. By leveraging my drawing skills, I bring a unique perspective that combines aesthetics with functionality, resulting in designs that are visually captivating and functionally seamless. My ability to think critically about user interactions and utilize spatial awareness enhances the quality and impact of my work as a UX designer.

PAINTING
During my childhood, I found a deep connection with Ticonderoga pencils, even with their dull tips. Colors didn't hold my interest as much as the tactile feedback I received from the pencil interacting with the paper's texture. The ability to erase and refine lines allowed for fluid creativity with minimal setup. However, I yearned for more, which led me to venture into painting. It was a challenging journey, from learning how to hold the brush to grasping color theory and the principles of creating a painting from start to finish. This struggle became the driving force behind my continuous growth as an artist.
I view design as a continuous process rather than a static concept. By consistently pushing myself beyond my comfort zone, I stay agile and open to new possibilities. Painting has taught me valuable lessons through numerous failures, which I have successfully applied to my design work. Combined with my background in neuroscience, my understanding of how the brain perceives the world enables me to mold user journeys by utilizing color theory to evoke specific emotions. I am dedicated to advancing my painting skills for two reasons: the inherent beauty of painting itself and the valuable skills gained through the process of learning from failures, which play crucial roles in other aspects of design.

CRAFTMANSHIP
My ability to quickly acquire diverse skills extends beyond the realm of manual craftsmanship. Driven by genuine curiosity, I approach learning by first understanding the underlying principles of any new skill. This contextual understanding serves as the foundation for my mastery. In the shop, whether working with wood or metal, I have learned the value of slowing down and engaging in thoughtful reflection. Meticulous planning and thinking several steps ahead are crucial, as mistakes are not easily rectified. This experience has sharpened my abstract problem-solving abilities and enhanced my critical thinking skills. Moreover, collaborating with others in the shop has significantly improved my communication skills, allowing me to effectively convey complex thoughts and ideas.
These skills and experiences seamlessly transition into my work as a UX designer. With adaptability, critical thinking, and clear communication as my strengths, I approach design challenges from a multifaceted perspective. I understand the importance of grasping the underlying principles of user experience design before applying them in practice.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Surrounded by talented photographers in my family, including my sister and father, I was always captivated by their ability to capture stunning shots. Over the past two years, I have been gradually familiarizing myself with the DSLR’s language and intricacies, using it as a powerful tool to enhance my work in user experience design.
Photography has taught me valuable skills that directly translate into my UX design practice. It has honed my ability to manipulate subjects, create visually appealing compositions, and make seemingly ordinary objects or scenes captivating. By using my eye to control the space within the viewfinder, I have gained a deeper understanding of composition, managing white space, and transforming ordinary elements into extraordinary visuals. Every day, I continue to expand my knowledge and skills with the camera, leveraging its potential to capture and craft visually compelling experiences in my UX designs.
