Now, Who Really is Chris Prigg?

I was given the name Christopher Gray Prigg because my Dad likes three syllables in a first name with a short last name. I go by Chris today, and for a brief time, I was Topher in tight circles. Gray is my Mom's maiden name.

I grew up in a home that celebrated the outdoors, and we ate organic when we could. My dad cultivated my creativity and commitment to solving issues. He also took us out on the water in kayaks, sailboats, and a small homemade rowboat with a 15-horsepower engine that my brother and I would waterski behind. My mom taught me the power of integrity and how to care for those around us by offering support, going the extra mile, and baking the best cookies in the world.

I get my work ethic from my older brother, and he taught me that showing up, working hard, and doing your best are valuable. Leadership was taught to me by my sister, and she taught me not to make snap judgments about those I encounter. I was raised to always hold the door for the person behind me and taught the value of listening by my siblings. I am who I am because of them.
My grandparents were beacons of unconditional love. My grandma taught me patience, laughter, and how to create beautiful flower arrangements, and my grandpa fostered a love of local ice cream and how to have passion for both global and local issues. Born too late to learn directly from my dad's father, I hear anecdotes of his presence from countless individuals. I credit my humility and humanity to my grandfather. From my grandmother, she taught me how to always give more than receive and how to connect with those around us. My grandparents have given me foundational traits that I carry with me, but love is the main thing—love for one another, love for self, and love for love's sake.

I like to fall asleep to classical music. I believe a shower can change the trajectory of a day, and a good pen is worth the extra money. I get nervous reading in front of people but love to talk to strangers. I wish I was more directionally inclined, but I can change the oil in my 2006 Honda Civic in 19 minutes. I am 6'6" but cannot dunk a basketball, and I prefer a sunset over a sunrise.

I am Chris Prigg, and I guess I also tend to overshare.
